OCEANIC BODYWORK® AQUA IN WARM WATER
Liquid Joy is a course in Oceanic Bodywork® Aqua, a unique form of warm-water bodywork developed by Kaya Femerling and Nirvano Martina Schulz.
Oceanic Bodywork® Aqua is a deeply relaxing water-based practice that combines gentle stretches, deep tissue massage, joint mobilization, energy work, and breath awareness. All movements flow seamlessly above and below the surface of the water.
Carefully guided movements release tension along the spine and allow energy to flow freely. The absence of weight lets your body move in new ways, increasing joint mobility and enhancing body awareness. Some positions may even evoke the comforting sensation of being held as a child or the experience of floating in the womb.
A session begins with surface relaxation and massage, often using floating supports. Your bodyworker gently guides stretches, massages, rotations, and rocking, allowing deep relaxation without effort. Once ready, the underwater phase begins: a soft nose plug is provided, and you are gently immersed. A fluid, intuitive dance unfolds, with synchronized undulating and rotating movements creating a natural energetic dialogue between giver and receiver.
At the end of the session, you are supported safely to integrate the sensations that emerged. Warm water in a secure environment may bring up childhood or prenatal memories, offering profound relaxation, harmony, and a sense of connection.
An OBA session nourishes the soul and restores trust, guiding you back to your origins in the deep blue of your inner ocean.
