Coming by flight
FLORENCE and PISA
The closest international airports are Florence and Pisa.
Every 30 min from Florence Airport there is a shuttle to the central bus station (which is right in front of the Railway Station) or a taxi to Florence railway station: Firenze S.Maria Novella. There you can take a √ train to Siena railway station.

Note – In Florence be aware of pick pockets around the central bus station and the railway station and also inside the railway station.
From Pisa Airport one can travel by train to Siena (changing in Empoli). There is also a direct bus from Pisa Airport to Siena. Click here for detailed information.
When arriving by flight to Rome either: Roma Fiumicino or Roma Ciampino it is convenient to travel by bus to Siena Railway Station.
There are two Bus companies that provide service to Siena:
- Tiemme S.p.A. from Rome Fiumicino Airport – Where the bus stop is at the Airport
Busses are at the BUS stop hub adjacent to the exits from Terminal 3 – Arrivals, bus stall n. 1. Follow the sign saying ” Bus Station ” to reach them. Click here for additional info.
- SENA Bus– First you will need go by train (from Fiumicino Aeroporto or Ciampino) to ROMA TIBURTINA (from Fiumicino don’t take the train that goes direct to Termini as it does not stop at Tiburtina – twice a day the SENA bus company has a bus from the airport Roma Fiumicino to the bus station Roma Tiburtina – click here for the time table)
Note – Be aware of pick pockets and scams on the trains from the airport and on all train stations in Rome
At Roma Tiburtina – cross the parking area (with your back to main entrance) and you will find the main bus stop.
There you will find the bus to Siena (the company is called SENA). In busy periods – such as holidays etc. be sure to make a reservation.
You would need to take the bus not later than the one at 16.00 in order to be in time for the pickup service (only in connection with group starts please inform the reception about your travel info).
From Siena railway station we provide a shuttle service to Miasto the day before the beginning of the group, when the group starts in the morning. When a group starts in the evening the pickup service usually is at 7.30 pm the same day. Contact us to know the time. The meeting point is inside the railway station, in front of the ticket office.
Coming by car:
(Note: If you use a navigator, please insert the following coordinates N 43.247203, E 11.170521 (on street no. SS541 / SP541). The Last 5 km you’ll be driving uphill along a dirt road).
From Milan, autostrada A1:
Leave the highway at the exit FIRENZE IMPRUNETA (ex FIRENZE CERTOSA), and take the superstrada (dual carriageway) for SIENA. Take the exit COLLE VAL D’ELSA SUD, and follow the signs towardsGROSSETO (SS 541).
After 23 kms and a sharp double bend, you will find an unmade road on the right. It is sign-posted OSHO MIASTO and COTORNIANO, where you arrive after 5 kms.
From Rome, autostrada A1:
Leave the highway at the exit SINALUNGA and take the superstrada (dual carriage way) for SIENA, then for GROSSETO. You will find a sign for ROSIA on your right.
Go to ROSIA and at the cross turn left. After 6 kms there is a cross where you turn right (towards COLLE VAL D’ELSA); after 1 km you will find a dirt road on the left. It is sign-posted OSHO MIASTO and COTORNIANO, where you arrive after 5 kms.
Take the superstrada (dual carriage way) for SIENA. You will find a sign on the left side for ROSIA. Then follow the indications as above.
When you come to Miasto without participating in a group and travel by train, you have to arrive in Siena.
