Dream Wood

Dream Wood, the magical forest that embraces the heart of Osho Miasto. Here, amidst oaks and silence, lies a path of art, meditation and inner discovery.

A forest that speaks

At the gates of Miasto and surrounded by Tuscan nature, the forest is home to some 250 stone sculptures created by Deva Manfredo. These works are created without cuts or adhesives, but thanks to the balance and natural strength of the stones, which dialogue with the surrounding world.
Each sculpture seems to come alive: figures conversing around the fire, embracing mothers, spirals, circles and architecture that seem to emerge from a dream.
The stone mandala – symbol of the park – is created with stones of different shapes and colours, inviting the observer to a silent and regenerating reflection.

Deva Manfredo

I put stones and other found materials together, compose them and move them from horizontal to vertical and place them, without binding or cementing them (with small exceptions), without cutting or breaking them.

They are free and spontaneous compositions.

The stones and various materials are perfect as they are when I find them – I do not change the shapes.

Nature possesses an incredible
multitude and infinite individuality.

Nature, especially the stones, will live much longer than us, having survived a thousand generations of men.

They have been, are and will be there.
We will soon perish.

My intervention is a small moment of eternity.

Deva Manfredo

“I choose a more primitive way of making compositions… only materials unmodified by me and only with the help of balance and gravity – no glues… I like to be as close to nature as possible. I like that small animals live in or under the sculptures. Mother Nature is the teacher (treated badly by our civilisation). I present the ancient masterpieces of her…. Man must see and understand nature – down to the smallest things & beings.”

A Bridge between Art and Meditation

The Dream Wood is not just an open-air museum: it is an extension of the meditative atmosphere of Osho Miasto. Walking among the sculptures, the visitor is invited to meet himself, in the dialogue between art, nature and silence.

It is a place where beauty is clothed in everyday sacredness, where the observer becomes part of the inner landscape.
