The End of Life is a sacred moment, just as Birth is. Death is a momentous life transition, which different people and cultures approach in many ways. For the most part, in contemporary Western culture, death has been forced into a dark closet of mystery, fear of the unknown, and deep resistance.
The fact is, all living things will one day die. We have hidden this truth from ourselves and created a smokescreen of untruth around something so sacred and special; death is a precious moment, not to be missed.
The purpose of this group is to bring death ‘out of the closet’ by acknowledging that death is the natural conclusion of the life of the body.
We will talk about what happens in the physical body as we approach the dying process.
We will explore what happens in the mind, and the subtler energy realms.
Through the many stories of Near-Death Experiences, we can learn from people who have experienced something unique and hopeful beyond bodily existence.
We will learn practical ways to support friends, family, and ourselves through the end-of-life journey, using music, meditation, gentle touch, and other methods of comfort care.
Documentary videos will enhance our understanding of new approaches to death and dying.
In this workshop we will practice meditations and group processes on Death that can open inner spaces into the unknown and the unknowable.
